FAQ
Is this a water fast?
No. Throughout the retreat you will enjoy three small, nourishing meals each day, thoughtfully designed to guide your body into a fasting-like state while still providing essential nutrients.
Most people find this approach far more manageable than traditional fasting — you are eating regularly and fully supported throughout. The structured meals allow your body to access its natural repair and renewal mechanisms in a way that feels safe, sustainable and deeply restorative.
What kind of food is it?
The programme follows a structured five-day, plant-based menu. Because the approach is intentionally low in calories and protein, every meal is carefully composed to ease the body into a fasting state while still providing genuine nourishment.
Expect whole-food ingredients — colourful vegetables, warming soups and thoughtfully balanced dishes that feel light yet satisfying. Simple, intentional and designed to support both body and enjoyment.

Will I be hungry?
You may experience some gentle hunger, particularly in the first day or two as your body transitions. This is completely normal and very much part of the process.
Most guests find it far more manageable than they expected. Being immersed in treatments, restorative practices and warm company naturally shifts attention away from food — and as the days progress, hunger typically settles. There's also plenty of enthusiastic food chat as guests start looking forward to what comes next!
As the body moves into ketosis, appetite-regulating hormones begin to stabilise and many people notice a natural reduction in hunger. It's also worth recognising that much of our urge to eat is tied to habit, routine and emotion — stepping outside those patterns can feel genuinely liberating.
When the body isn't constantly processing food, it redirects energy toward repair and renewal. Many guests describe a growing sense of clarity and steady energy as the days go on.
Can I exercise?
Gentle movement is encouraged. Walking, stretching, Qigong and restorative practices all complement the diet beautifully. This retreat is designed for deep restoration rather than exertion- keeping activity light allows the body to direct its energy toward regeneration.
You will be met exactly where you are. Nothing strenuous is expected of you. This is a time to support your body, not push it.
Can I come alone?
Absolutely - and many guests do. Coming on your own often creates a deeper experience, giving you the freedom to move at your own pace and reconnect with yourself without distraction.
The retreat offers a warm, naturally social environment alongside plenty of space for quiet and solitude. You are very welcome here, exactly as you are.
Do I need any previous fasting experience?
Not at all. The retreat is designed to be accessible whether this is your first time or you've fasted before. You'll receive preparation guidance a couple of weeks before arrival - helpful, but not compulsory. Many guests simply arrive and begin, and both approaches work well.
With the structure, nourishment and professional support provided throughout, guests tend to adapt smoothly and experience the full benefits regardless of prior experience.
What if I find certain moments challenging?
The retreat is intentionally small so that if you experience discomfort, low energy or emotional waves, you will be supported gently and practically throughout.
Michelle monitors the nutritional side and provides hands-on fasting support, making adjustments wherever needed. Alice's acupuncture works directly with the body's physiology, helping to ease transitions, stabilise energy and settle the nervous system. Nina's Yoga Nidra and restorative practices offer deep grounding and rest.
What can feel challenging is often simply the body in transition — and with the right support, it settles.
Your wellbeing always comes first.
What happens after the five days?
The days following the retreat are just as important as the fast itself. You will receive clear guidance on how to reintroduce food and what to enjoy in the days that follow.
Most guests find that returning to eating feels different — appetite regulation often feels reset, food tastes amazing and there is a natural gravity toward lighter, more nourishing choices. We'll support you in carrying that momentum forward.
Who is this retreat not suitable for?
For safety reasons, this retreat is not suitable for those who are pregnant, have a history of eating disorders, are taking certain medications, or are managing a serious medical condition.
